报告人简介:
michael grätzel is professor of physical chemistry and director of the laboratory of photonics and interfaces at the école polytechnique fédérale de lausanne. he pioneered research in the field of energy and electron transfer reactions in mesoscopic systems and their use in energy conversion systems, in particular photovoltaic cells and photo-electrochemical devices. he co-invented with brian o‘regan the grätzel cell in 1988.
prof. grätzel obtained doctor of natural science from the technical university of berlin and received 10 honorary doctors degrees from asian and european universities. he is a member of the swiss chemical society and an elected member of the german academy of science (leopoldina) as well as honorary member of the israeli chemical society, the bulgarian academy of science and the société vaudoise de sciences naturelles. recently he was named honorary fellow of the royal society of chemistry (uk). he has won many prestigious awards including millennium 2000 european innovation prize, faraday medal of the british royal society (2001), dutch havinga award (2001), italgas prize (2004), gerischer prize (2005), harvey prize (2007), balzan prize (2009), millennium technology prize (2010), albert einstein world award of science (2012), marcel benoist prize (2013), king faisal international prize (2015) and global energy prize (2017).
prof. grätzel coauthored over 1500 publications (including 11 science and 8 nature) that received over 250,000 citations with h-index of 224. he is one of the 3 most highly cited chemists in the world.
